Hot Pink & Funky Dots Nails

Today I wanted something bright and fun on my nails. Something that screams summer. Enter this bubbly bright pink. I’m not sure what it is but this shade makes me think of ice cream cones, short shorts, big shades, and water fights. I knew that this color had to be on my nails today. So I designed an easy, fool-proof, fun & funky design around this color.

Step 1

Apply two coats of Gelish “Made you Blink Pink” or any other color you want. Click for a gel nail kit and light.

Wow…my shadow is huge in this pic…oops.

Step 2

Add dots to the nails. I used the biggest end of the dotting tools that I had. I opted to use this dark purple that would really stick out from my pink base. I placed one dot on the bottom center of my pinkies. Then three dots on my ring finger; bottom right, bottom left, top center. I left the middle finger plain because its cool like that. On the pointer finger I did two dots, one on top of the other, on the inner edge. Last I did three dots in a vertical line down the center of my thumbnails so they look like buttons on a snowman.

You might notice some black stuff around the edges of my nails. That’s black glitter from a failed attempt to bring you glitter zebra stripes. Maybe one day….

Step 4

Now its time to add some bling! While the dots are still wet, bring out the rhinestones. I chose turquoise rhinestones because they also remind me of summer and are a nice standout from the other colors. Place one rhinestone in the center of each dot.

There you have it, one fabulously simple summertime nail look! What do you think? Let me know in the comments below.
