Kansas City Sea Life Aquarium

Lifestyle

Now that our sweet baby is here we find ourselves wanting to do more and more activities. You know, give our three month old experiences she’ll remember for the rest of her life. One such place we have been wanting to get to for awhile now is our local aquarium. Tickets were kind of pricey at $17 a piece but we knew we had to go at least once.

Of course, no aquarium would be complete without Nemo. Dory is a bit blurry because she is a hyperactive fish and couldn’t keep still for her photo op.

There were giant sting rays big enough to hitch a ride on (I wouldn’t recommend it). This picture doesn’t do the size of this beauty justice.

This angel fish looking guy…

These prehistoric mollusk things were really cool!

Also lots of really colorful fish…

Now for my favorites!

The seahorses were so cool. Come mating time the female deposits eggs into the male’s pouch and he later gives birth. That is just so cool to me!

And of course the puffer fish. These little guys may not be as colorful as some of the other fish but they just look so happy!

I also really liked the jellyfish — so mesmerizing — but seem to have lost my photo….

All in all it was a fun day with lots of cool fish. There were some sharks but I would have liked to have seen more. The big disappointment of the day — No Octopus!!! So yeah, fun day at a smaller aquarium that I would love to see expand and get a few more creatures :)

Until next time!
