Lilac and Black Nails

Beauty Nails

Usually on Mondays I try to do a DIY post. I am really excited for my next project but am unfortunately still waiting for some components to come in the mail. Instead I thought that I would do some nails today.

At the moment pastel blues and purples with a hint of grey are very on trend. I was able to find some cheap gel polishes online that ship from China. I ordered a really pretty ice blue polish. When it came it looked a lot more purple than blue. I think that the color I got is a pretty good dupe for Harmony Princess Tiara. So even though I didn’t get exactly what I was thinking I would the color is still very popular right now and a fraction of the cost of what I could have ordered from the US.

Step 1

Coat your nails in your polish color. I had to use 3 layers to build up to what is pictured below. I think I would have been happier with four layers but I was getting tired of waiting for the layers to dry.

Step 2

While the top layer of nail polish is still wet it is time to add rhinestones! I started on my pinky and took a row of black rhinestones along the outside edge and the bottom of the nail but not putting them on the inside edge. I then took light purple rhinestones starting from the inside edge and then following it over my first row of black stones. In the space that remained I added more black rhinestones.

Step 3

On the middle fingers I did three vertical rows down the center: black, purple, black.

Step 4

Onto the thumb! Here I did an inverted V in the center of the nail with black rhinestones. I ended up using 4 rhinestones on each side of the V with one on the top to cap it off. In the center of the V I added 3 purple rhinestones.

Step 5

Coat with a clear topcoat and allow to dry. Then admire your finished results :)

This is a cool manicure idea! I like how the nails are decorated differently but that they all coordinate well with each other :)

Wow that beading looks amazing, I love how far nail art has come, so much DIY and so much different things to do with them.
