Today I’m trying something new — my first Intrepid Bliss youtube video! I’m kind of petrified but hey, I’m also all about expanding my horizons. Just please, no pitchforks if its completely terrible!
For my very first video I’m showing off some of my favorite finds this month. I realize my videographer skills needs some work as some of the items are hard to see in the video so I’m going to post pictures here as well.
I love my salad spinner. I’m not always the most healthy eater and having to wash lettuce leaves makes salads that much more unappealing because I’m usually left with a soggy mess of greens. Or I could just leave them unwashed but I’m not really into pesticides or listeria. When I first found out about this little invention I was over the moon. All you do is put your greens into the colander, drain for a second then put it in the basket and give it a spin. The momentum gets all the water off and its fun.
DH and I have been married for over 4 years and we still have been using the containers that our salt and pepper comes in at the store. Not exactly a crime but we wanted something a little nicer for the rare occurrence of guests. Enter these cute little shakers. I love kitties so these are great, they will match most dinnerware, and you can actually tell which is for salt and which is for pepper which I didn’t realize would be a problem until I actually started shopping. Cats for the win!
As I am trying to eat healthier this high tech little box has been a life saver. After I grocery shop I divide all the junk food into single serving sizes and put them into the box. You say how long you need the box to be closed for and it will not open until then. I time mine to open at about 7pm each night when DH and I are starting to settle down for the night. We each pick out one treat for the night and then the box is locked for the next 24 hours. The Kitchen Safe is kind of pricey for a tupperware box but to me it was worth every penny. Over time its going to pay itself off in food that we’re not eating. You can also use it to store other things like to lock up your phone, cigarettes, etc.
When it comes to planning I’m an old fashioned pen and paper type gal. I’ve used google calendar and the like before but the notifications tend to go unnoticed. I need to physically be able to write tasks down and cross them off. I was in need of a new planner and found this awesome insect planner! You are able to put your name or whatever text you want on the front to help make it your own. The company also has tons of other cute designs that you can personalize as well.
I found these adorable and glamorous gold glitter paper clips off of Etsy. I think they are adorable and use them to mark my place in my bug planner. They are a bit fragile so some added superglue might be in order but that’s such a quick and easy fix that I don’t even care.
As I’m getting bigger I’m needing to buy more clothes. Hooray for an excuse to shop! I am still not sure that most people can tell that I’m pregnant. Some clothes are more obvious than others but I think for the most part I just look like I need to lay off the doughnuts. I am still waiting for that perfectly round little belly but at 25wks I’m starting to think that I’m just not going to show that way. So what’s a girl to do but than to buy clothes that literally tell the world? :) I got this top off of etsy as well and I love the saying and the cute little crown. It came with a bow which I found to be too large and floppy so I go without.
One product I’ve been using a lot of lately is press on nails. I love how durable they are and you can get really elaborate designs at home. You clean off your nails with some alcohol to get rid of the oils, rough them up a bit with a file then glue them on. Easy. I find that to get them to last more than a week I can trim them to a shorter length so they aren’t in the way getting banged up as much. Also adding a little extra nail glue when you first put them on or if they start to come loose helps. The first ones I wore lasted about a week but I think that’s because they were too long for me and kept getting caught on stuff. This pair I’m wearing now I think might go for a week and a half or even two weeks as I trimmed them and used extra glue. They feel very secure.
Another great place to shop for press on nails is etsy. There are so many talented nail artists selling on there! Check out this set that I ordered and can’t wait to try!
That’s it for my roundup. Any of these you think you would actually try? How about any cool products you’ve found this month? Let me know in the comments below!
Until next time!
