2 Ingredient Massage Oil
One thing DH and I love to do for each other is massages. Who wouldn’t love a massage after a long day? Not only is massage relaxing but there is something about touch that can communicate so much.
Today I am here to encourage a little bit of touch with this simple two ingredient, five minute massage oil! Oh, and this can also double as a homemade lotion! Win. All you need is some coconut oil and essential oil.
- 1/2 c Coconut Oil
- 2 teaspoons essential oil of your choice
I was making this for my husband so wanted a more masculine blend. I used 1/2 tsp of sandalwood, 1/2 tsp cedar wood, and 1tsp of orange essential oil.
I think lavender would be an excellent choice for a relaxing scent. Or you could try vanilla with a hint of cinnamon for a warm fall/winter scent! (careful not to use too much cinnamon as this one can tingle)
Measure your coconut oil then heat in the microwave in 30 sec increments till melted. Depending how cold it was this shouldn’t take too long.
After your coconut oil is melted add your essential oils and mix well.
Allow to cool. You may find depending on what oils you used that you need to periodically stir while it is cooling to keep the oils from separating.
Once your oil is cooled it is ready to use.
I love the coconut oil. It is super moisterizing and stays slick a lot longer than regular lotions. The best feature is that it melts at body temperature!
I really loved how this turned out. Mine has a very pleasant and uplifting orange scent which fades to give way to the more sensual and masculine woody scents. A real winner :)
