Protein Packed Cottage Cheese & Berries
One of my favorite breakfast items is a simple bowl of cottage cheese and blueberries. Its a snap to whip up and tastes delicious! I love the combination of tart and sweet berries with the mild, creamy cottage cheese.
Besides the taste, this simple meal has a lot to offer nutritionally. This low carb dish really packs in the protein and antioxidants. The high protein helps to keep me full without being sluggish like a heavier breakfast would. And did you know that berries are lower on sugar than most fruits?
Calories: 185 Carbs: 18 Protein: 13 Fat: 8 Fiber: 3
- 1/2 c Blueberries
- 1/2 c 4% Cottage Cheese
- 1 Tbsp Crushed Pecans or Slivered Almonds
Place all your ingredients in a bowl and enjoy! This is as easy as cereal but so much better for you! This can easily be doubled and not break the calorie bank. Plus, I use full fat cottage cheese but that could easily be switched out to reduce calories and fat.
